The Driver: George Russell

George Russell (King's Lynn, February 15, 1998) is one of the most talented drivers of the new Formula 1 generation. Having risen through the Mercedes junior program, he was the 2017 GP3 Champion and 2018 FIA Formula 2 Champion, both in his first attempt with ART Grand Prix — an achievement only matched by Charles Leclerc in recent history. After three seasons of apprenticeship at Williams (2019-2021), in 2022 he joined Mercedes-AMG Petronas as Lewis Hamilton's teammate, immediately winning his first Formula 1 race at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos on November 13, 2022. In subsequent years, he secured other victories, including the 2024 Austrian GP, 2024 Las Vegas GP, and 2025 Canadian GP, solidifying his position as a top driver in the premier series. From 2025, he will race alongside young Italian talent Kimi Antonelli, following Hamilton's departure to Ferrari.
