The Champion: Jurgen Klinsmann

Jurgen Klinsmann (Goppingen, July 30, 1964) was one of the greatest strikers in European football, included in the FIFA 100 among the best living players. Launched by Stuttgart, in the summer of 1989 he joined Trapattoni's Inter, where he formed the historic German trio with Lothar Matthaus and Andreas Brehme. In three seasons with Inter, he scored 40 goals in 123 games, winning the Italian Supercup and the first UEFA Cup in the club's history, in 1990-91. With West Germany, he became a world champion at Italia 90, and then went on to win the 1996 European Championship as captain. He made 108 appearances and scored 47 goals for the national team. After retiring, he coached Germany, which finished third at the 2006 World Cup.
