A relic of extraordinary vintage charm: the original promotional postcard printed by RCA Italiana in 1963 for the launch of the 45 rpm single Basta chiudere gli occhi/Domani, catalog PM45 3181. The black and white front depicts Gino Paoli in profile, with the unmistakable dark glasses that defined his public image in those years, in a sober and elegant shot that conveys the entire intellectual aura of the young Genoese singer-songwriter. The original autograph, applied in pen to the bottom of the image, is clear and perfectly legible. The back shows the titles of the two songs and the red RCA logo. An authentic document from the golden age of Italian singer-songwriters, signed by the artist during his lifetime.

The artist: Gino Paoli

Gino Paoli (Monfalcone, September 23, 1934 – Genoa, March 24, 2026) was one of the greatest exponents of Italian pop music and one of the fathers of the Genoese school of singer-songwriters, along with Luigi Tenco, Umberto Bindi, and Fabrizio De André. He wrote songs that became part of the collective heritage: Il cielo in una stanza, La gatta, Senza fine, Sapore di sale, Che cosa c'è. 1963, the year of this postcard, marked his definitive consecration: having moved to RCA Italiana following Nanni Ricordi, he recorded a series of hits arranged by Ennio Morricone. He participated in five editions of the Sanremo Festival, won the Festivalbar 1991, and received the Premio Tenco in 1974. His essential and deeply poetic writing forever changed the way Italian song was understood.
