Simone Pepe's Player Issued jersey: Udinese's first jersey for the 2007/08 season, the season of his consecration

The first official Udinese Calcio jersey for the 2007/2008 season in a Player Issued version is an authentic vintage relic of Italian football. The Lotto home kit features the classic black and white vertical striped design from the 2007/08 version, with the characteristic diagonal micro-stripe pattern embossed in the black stripes—a distinctive technical element of Lotto during those years—and black sleeves with a red Lotto logo patch on the sides. The official Udinese Calcio 1896 emblem with a golden laurel wreath is applied on the upper right. The main sponsor is the classic red banner with the white text "Gaudì Jeans & Style". The jersey is made in Italy by Lotto, as stated on the label with the "Made in Italy" wording and the signature of CITO Sport Italia SpA from Trevignano (TV)—a historic Italian sportswear manufacturer. The official Lega Calcio Serie A TIM patch with the ball version is applied on the left sleeve. The back bears the name PEPE and the number 7 in black. Size L.

The player: Simone Pepe

Simone Pepe (Albano Laziale, August 30, 1983) is an Italian right winger who built his career between Serie B and Serie A before establishing himself as one of the best offensive wingers of his generation. Having come up through the Roma youth academy, he worked his way through Lecco, Teramo, Palermo, and Piacenza before joining Udinese in January 2006. The 2007/2008 season—the season of this jersey—was his first as an undisputed starter with Pasquale Marino's bianconeri: 33 appearances in Serie A with 3 goals, including his first official goal for Udinese on February 2, 2008, against Napoli at the San Paolo. His performances definitively launched him onto the Italian football scene and attracted the attention of the National team: he would make his debut for Italy in October 2008. His three seasons as a starter at Udinese (2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10) with a total of 14 goals made him one of the most appreciated players by the Friulian fans of that period, to the point that in 2010 Juventus bought him for 7.5 million euros, where he would win three consecutive Scudetti.

What is a vintage Player Issued jersey?

A Player Issued jersey is a kit specifically prepared for a particular player but not necessarily worn in an official match. It differs from the commercial version due to a series of precise technical characteristics: personalization with the player's name and number, match-grade cut and materials, exclusive technical details reserved for team supply. When a jersey is over twenty years old, it falls into the Vintage category, acquiring additional collectible value related to rarity, history, and manufacture. The combination of Made in Italy, the Lotto brand in this specific design, and a career player in Italian football makes this item an interesting piece for collectors of bianconera memorabilia and Italian football of the 2000s.
