A photograph of extraordinary historical value (29x21 cm) that captures an authentic moment in Walter De Vecchi's youth career at Varese during the 1974/1975 Serie A season, at San Siro against Milan. The Milanese midfielder — just nineteen years old — is depicted center stage in a white jersey with red and black details on the collar, the away kit of the "Bosini" that season. The ball is in flight in the upper right corner: the Milan goalkeeper in a yellow number 1 jersey leaps out for an aerial save to clear the danger. On the sides, two Rossoneri defenders in the classic striped Milan kit — one with the number 3 clearly visible — complete the scene. In the background, the packed stands of the Meazza. The Champion: Walter De Vecchi

Walter De Vecchi (Milan, February 18, 1955), nicknamed "The Milan Lawyer," is one of the most beloved midfielders by Rossoneri fans. Coming up through Milan's youth academy, he made his Serie A debut in 1974 and in the 1974/75 season was loaned to Varese to play regularly. He returned to Milan in 1978/79 — the season of the historic Scudetto della Stella under Nils Liedholm. His "miracle" in the return derby on March 18, 1979, is unforgettable, when he scored two goals in ten minutes, overturning Inter's 2-0 lead and paving the way for Milan's tenth title. In his career, he also played for Monza, Ascoli, Napoli, Bologna, and Reggiana. After retiring in 1992, he began a coaching career, leading Milan's youth teams.
