The Champion: Antonio Cabrini

Antonio Cabrini (Cremona, October 8, 1957), nicknamed "Bell'Antonio" for his appearance, is one of the greatest left-backs in the history of Italian football. Having grown up in the youth ranks of Cremonese and Atalanta, he joined Juventus in 1976 where he spent thirteen top-level seasons, winning six Scudetti, two Coppa Italia, one European Cup (1984/85), one Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Cup, and one European Super Cup. With the Italian National team, he was a World Champion at Spain 1982 under Bearzot's guidance, a match in which he also took the famous penalty saved by Schumacher in the final against West Germany. He played in three consecutive World Cups (1978, 1982, 1986) and the 1980 European Championship, totaling 73 appearances for the Azzurri. After retirement, he embarked on a coaching career, also leading the women's national team.
