Autographed Photograph – Gabriele Lavia – Sleepless by Dario Argento – COA Included

Gabriele Lavia's autographed photograph: a return to the thriller of Dario Argento

A color photograph, 26x20.5 cm format, depicting a moment of high tension taken from Sleepless (2001), the thriller directed by Dario Argento that marked a return to the atmosphere of the purest Italian "giallo." In the scene, Gabriele Lavia, in the role of the lawyer Betti, points a gun with a gaze charged with tension, in a shot that perfectly captures the visual style of the Turin-born director. It is no coincidence that in this film Lavia returned to work with Argento twenty-six years after Deep Red, even repeating the famous line "It's all your fault" with the same expression as the 1975 masterpiece. The original autograph is written with a gold marker directly on the print, in a large and clearly visible way. Excellent condition, colors and print perfectly preserved.

The actor: Gabriele Lavia

Gabriele Lavia (Milan, October 10, 1942) is an Italian actor, theater and film director, and one of the most authoritative figures of his generation. After graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, he built a solid theatrical career working with masters such as Giorgio Strehler, before achieving cinematic popularity in the Seventies and Eighties thanks to a series of horror films that became authentic cult classics, including Deep Red (1975) and Inferno (1980) by Dario Argento, as well as Beyond the Door (1974) by Ovidio G. Assonitis. In 2001, he returned to work with Argento in Sleepless, playing the lawyer Betti in a film that deliberately recalls the atmosphere of Deep Red. A multi-award-winning director in theater and opera as well, he received the Nastro d'Argento for best new director in 1984 for The Prince of Homburg, remaining one of the most multifaceted and respected figures in Italian entertainment.

What is an original autographed photograph?

An original autographed photograph is a print in which the actor's signature has been applied directly to the surface in a certified presence, without intermediaries. It differs from reproductions due to the spontaneity of the graphic gesture, the irregular pressure of the stroke, and the three-dimensionality of the ink on the photographic paper. Added to these visual elements are the MTM Letter of Authenticity (LOA) issued free of charge, along with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from an internationally recognized independent body. The collector's value of an autographed photograph grows over time in relation to the popularity of the subject and the relevance of the scene depicted, as in this case linked to one of the most influential directors of Italian horror cinema.
