Marco Pisano's Player Issued jersey: Palermo's historic third kit from 2006/07

Palermo's third kit for the 2006/2007 season, in its long-sleeved Player Issued version, is one of the most sought-after relics of vintage Italian football. Recognized by fans as one of the fifty most beautiful kits in football history, it was made by Lotto in Italy, featuring the prestigious locker room version reserved for the team's supply. The pure white is horizontally crossed mid-torso by a wide two-tone pink-black band, the identifying symbol of the Rosanero club, on which stands the spectacular stylized golden eagle with outstretched wings. "Mandi" chest sponsor in vibrant orange, rubberized black Lotto logo, and "U.S. Città di Palermo" club crest embroidered with gold threads that echo the central eagle. Official Lega Calcio Serie A TIM patch on the right sleeve and stylized Italian flag details on the sleeves. Personalized with the number 26 on the back in official black typography. Made in Italy, size L (50). Excellent vintage condition.

The player: Marco Pisano

Marco Pisano (Rome, August 13, 1981) is an Italian defender who grew up in Lazio's youth academy, where he won the 1999/2000 Coppa Italia. A natural left-back, capable of adapting to a central or wide role in a three-man defense, he built his career at Brescia, Ascoli, Taranto, and Sampdoria, before joining Palermo in the summer of 2006, at the behest of Maurizio Zamparini. In the 2006/2007 season, he played 33 matches for the Rosanero, becoming a regular starter in Francesco Guidolin's defense, deployed on the left alongside Cassani, Zaccardo, and Barzagli — a future world champion. That season, Palermo finished fifth in the league, qualifying for the UEFA Cup, reaching the round of 16 after the iconic elimination of Tevez and Mascherano's West Ham. He continued his career at Torino, Bari, Parma, Vicenza, and Venezia.

What is a Player Issued jersey?

A Player Issued jersey is a kit specifically prepared for a professional squad player and is distinctly different from the commercial version due to verifiable technical characteristics: superior quality finishes, embroidered club crest (instead of printed), rubberized Lotto logo, anatomical match cut, specific internal labels, and country of manufacture. The Palermo Third 2006/07 Player Issued is indeed Made in Italy, while the retail version sold to fans was produced abroad. The long-sleeved variant makes this item even rarer, reserved for winter or European matches. A relic impossible to find through commercial channels almost twenty years after its production.
