Antonio Nocerino (Naples, April 9, 1985) is an Italian midfielder with an intense and multifaceted career. Having grown up in the Juventus youth system, he played for Avellino, Genoa, Piacenza, Catanzaro, Messina, Juventus, and Palermo before joining AC Milan on August 31, 2011, the last day of the transfer market, for the surprising sum of 500,000 euros. Strongly desired by Massimiliano Allegri, he chose to wear the number 22 shirt left free by Kaká, making his debut on September 9, 2011, against Lazio. His first season with the Rossoneri was simply exceptional: 10 goals in Serie A in 35 appearances, a hat-trick against Parma on October 26, 2011, inclusion in the Serie A Team of the Year 2011/12, and a regular call-up to Cesare Prandelli's Italian national team.
