The Goalkeeper: Ivano Bordon

Ivano Bordon (Marghera, April 13, 1951), nicknamed "Pallottola" (the Bullet) by Sandro Mazzola for his remarkable reflexes, is one of the most beloved goalkeepers in Inter's history. He grew up in the Nerazzurri youth sector behind Lido Vieri from 1966, joining the first team in 1970 and immediately winning the Scudetto in his first year (1970/71). After his historic debut in the replay of Inter-Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1971 — a perfect match in Berlin with a saved penalty — he became Inter's undisputed starting goalkeeper for thirteen seasons (1970-1983), totaling 388 appearances, 2 Scudetti (1970/71, 1979/80), 2 Coppa Italia (1977/78, 1981/82), and Inter's unbeaten record of 686 consecutive minutes without conceding a goal in the 1979/80 season. World Champion in 1982 with the Italian National team as Dino Zoff's understudy, he made 22 appearances for Italy. Later in his career, he played for Sampdoria, Sanremese, and Brescia. Inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame in 2022 as the fifth goalkeeper after Zenga, Toldo, Pagliuca, and Julio Cesar.
