Giuseppe Dante Gabbiani, known as Beppe (Piacenza, January 2, 1957), is an Italian racing driver who also competed in Formula 1. After a brilliant karting career and a winning debut in European Formula 3 in France, he moved to Formula 2 with the Trivellato Racing Team. In 1978, he was called to Formula 1 by Surtees to replace the injured Vittorio Brambilla in the final races of the season, making his debut on October 1, 1978, at the United States Grand Prix in Watkins Glen. He then returned to Formula 1 in 1981 with Osella. In parallel, he built a long and appreciated career in sports cars and Formula 2, also competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
