Franco Baresi (Travagliato, May 8, 1960 – Milan, July 31, 2026) joined AC Milan's youth academy at fourteen and became captain in 1982, leading the Rossoneri for the entire season of Opel and Mediolanum sponsorships, the era of European successes under the presidency of Silvio Berlusconi. With AC Milan, he won six Scudetti, three European Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, and one UEFA Super Cup, establishing himself as one of the most complete defenders of his generation worldwide. His number 6 was retired by the club at the end of his career in 1997.
