Career
Roberto Mancini grew up in Bologna and rose to prominence at a young age with Sampdoria, where he played from 1982 to 1997, forming an attacking partnership with Gianluca Vialli that led the Blucerchiati to their first and only Scudetto (1990-91), as well as a Cup Winners' Cup, four Coppa Italia titles, and an Italian Supercup. In 1997, he moved to Lazio, with whom he won another Scudetto in 2000, two Coppa Italia titles, and a European Supercup. He made 36 appearances and scored 4 goals for the Italian national team.
As a coach, he won three consecutive Scudetti with Inter (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09), four Coppa Italia titles, and two Italian Supercups. At the helm of Manchester City, he won the 2011-12 Premier League, the club's first in 44 years. In 2018, he was appointed head coach of the Italian national team and led them to victory in the Euro 2020 at Wembley. After failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, he remained in charge until August 2023, when he became the head coach of Saudi Arabia.
