Career
Veronica Scopelliti, known by her stage name Noemi, was born in Rome on January 25, 1982. An Italian singer-songwriter with an unmistakable vocal timbre—warm, raspy, and deep, capable of ranging from pop to soul to blues—she is one of the most beloved and representative female voices in contemporary Italian music. She graduated in performing arts from Roma Tre University and approached music as a child, studying piano at seven and guitar at eleven. Her big break came in 2009 with her participation in the second Italian edition of X Factor, where she reached the semi-finals in the Over 25 category under the guidance of Morgan, immediately winning over the public. The single "Briciole" and the eponymous EP released shortly after achieved Gold status and definitively launched her onto the national scene. Her first studio album, "Sulla mia pelle," arrived in the same year, featuring the iconic duet with Fiorella Mannoia, "L'amore si odia," which immediately became number one in the Italian Top Singles chart. In 2010, she debuted at the Sanremo Festival with "Per tutta la vita," placing fourth—this marked the beginning of a long relationship with the festival, in which she would participate eight times in total (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2025). Her most famous songs include "Vuoto a perdere," "Sono solo parole," "Bagnati dal sole," "Glicine," "Ti amo non lo so dire" written with Mahmood, and "Se t'innamori muori." She has released seven studio albums, including "Sulla mia pelle" (2009), "RossoNoemi" (2011), "Made in London" (2014), "Cuore d'artista" (2016), "La luna" (2018), "Metamorfosi" (2021), and "Nostalgia" (2025). Among her many accolades, she has received five Wind Music Awards, the special Nastro d'Argento in 2019 for her interpretation of "Domani è un altro giorno," and in 2017, she entered the Guinness World Records for the most concerts performed in twelve hours. From 2013 to 2015, she was a coach on the talent show The Voice of Italy, confirming her central role in the contemporary Italian music scene.
