The Azzurri's Story
Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli traces its roots back to August 1, 1926, when the merger of Internaples and Naples Football & Cricket Club gave birth to Associazione Calcio Napoli. The blue colors, inspired by the Neapolitan sky and sea, immediately became the identifying symbol of the club and the city. For the first fifty years, Napoli remained on the fringes of victories, with their best result being two second-place finishes in the 1960s. The turning point came on June 30, 1984, with the purchase of Diego Armando Maradona from Barcelona for then-record fees: the arrival of the Pibe de Oro at San Paolo marked the beginning of the most triumphant era in Neapolitan history. Under the guidance of Ottavio Bianchi first and then Albertino Bigon, with champions like Maradona, Careca, Bruno Giordano, Salvatore Bagni, and Ciro Ferrara, Napoli won two historic Scudetti in 1986-87 and 1989-90, the 1988-89 UEFA Cup against Stuttgart, a 1986-87 Coppa Italia, and a 1990 Supercoppa Italiana. After the difficult years of bankruptcy and rebirth under Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli returned to the top of Italian football under Maurizio Sarri, Carlo Ancelotti, Luciano Spalletti, and Antonio Conte, winning their third historic Scudetto in 2022-23 with Spalletti after a 33-year wait, with champions like Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Stanislav Lobotka, and Giovanni Di Lorenzo, and their fourth Scudetto in 2024-25 under Antonio Conte. In total, the Azzurri have won 4 Scudetti, 6 Coppa Italia, 2 Supercoppa Italiana, and 1 UEFA Cup. Among the great Neapolitan legends are Diego Armando Maradona, Antonio Careca, Ciro Ferrara, Marek Hamšík, Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens, Edinson Cavani, Gonzalo Higuaín, Kalidou Koulibaly, and captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
[H2] Napoli Jerseys: Autographed Store, Player Issued, and Match Worn
The Napoli jerseys available on MTM Memorabilia represent a high-level collectible documentation of the Neapolitan club. The catalog includes three distinct types of official jerseys. Autographed store jerseys are commercial versions signed by the protagonists of the Azzurri's history, from Maradona-era champions to players from recent Scudetti and contemporary stars. Player-issued jerseys are official items assigned by the club to players for training, on the bench, or as reserves, identical to game-worn ones but not used in official matches. Match-worn jerseys are actually worn on the field during official competitions, the rarest and most sought-after piece by international collectors. Each jersey covers different seasons and protagonists: from the Ennerre and Linea Time years of the 1980s Maradona triumphs, to the Lotto, Diadora, Nike, Macron, Kappa, and Armani EA7 eras of the new millennium, with historic sponsors like Buitoni, Mars, Voiello, Polenghi, Lete, MSC Cruises, Garofalo, Lete, and MSC, up to recent EA7 seasons. The provenance of each jersey is documented, and its authenticity verified by our experts.
