Career
Maicon Douglas Sisenando was born in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, on July 26, 1981. He grew up in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, where his father Manoel Sisenando coached the youth teams of Tigre. He developed in the Criciúma youth system before making his professional debut for Cruzeiro in 2001. With the Minas Gerais club, he won the historic Triple Crown in 2003: the Campeonato Mineiro, the Copa do Brasil, and the Campeonato Brasileiro. In June 2004, he transferred to Didier Deschamps' Monaco in Ligue 1 for £2.1 million. Two seasons later, in July 2006, he was signed by Inter for £4.8 million along with Maxwell and Olivier Dacourt. In Milan, he experienced the most memorable years of his career: 248 appearances and 20 goals in six seasons, four consecutive Scudetti (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10), two Coppa Italia titles, three Italian Supercups, the historic 2009-10 Champions League, and the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup. In the year of the Treble under José Mourinho, he became a club legend, scoring iconic goals such as the bicycle kick against Juventus, the decisive left-footed volley in the derby, and the goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. In August 2010, he was named Europe's best defender for the 2009-10 season by UEFA. He formed one of the strongest full-back pairings in the history of Italian football with Javier Zanetti. In August 2012, he moved to Manchester City for £3.5 million, then in 2013 to Roma, where he played for a season and a half. After Brazilian stints at Avaí and Criciúma, and a San Marino interlude at Tre Penne in the 2021 UEFA Conference League, he officially retired. With the Brazilian national team, he made 76 appearances and scored 7 goals between 2003 and 2014, participating in the 2010 (where he scored against North Korea) and 2014 World Cups, winning two Copa América titles (2004 and 2007) and two Confederations Cups. On January 26, 2022, he was officially inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame.
Why collect a Maicon autograph
An original Maicon autograph is one of the most sought-after pieces of memorabilia related to Inter's 2010 Treble-winning team, one of the most glorious teams in the history of Italian football. The signature of the Brazilian Colossus is particularly valuable on the Nerazzurri jerseys from the 2009-2010 season, on photographs of iconic goals against Juventus, Barcelona, and in the derbies, and on memorabilia related to the Champions League final won in Madrid against Bayern Munich. Its collectible value is supported by his status as a Nerazzurri Hall of Famer since 2022, the iconic status of one of the strongest full-back pairings in history (Maicon-Zanetti), and the rarity of his public appearances in Europe after his definitive return to Brazil. A Maicon autograph is a piece of Inter's most celebrated season.
