The Nerazzurri Story
Inter was founded on March 9, 1908, following a split from Milan Cricket and Football Club, by members who wanted to welcome foreign players. This led to the name "Internazionale" and the black and blue colors, chosen to evoke night and sky. Their first Scudetto arrived in 1910, but it was in the 1960s that Helenio Herrera's Inter, the "Grande Inter," entered legend with three Scudetti, two European Cups (1964, 1965), and two Intercontinental Cups, thanks to champions like Sandro Mazzola, Giacinto Facchetti, Luis Suárez, and Jair. In the 1980s, the "German trio" Matthäus-Brehme-Klinsmann arrived, winning the 1989 Scudetto and the 1991 UEFA Cup. The most triumphant chapter was written in 2010 with the Treble under José Mourinho: Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and Champions League conquered in the same season, making them the first and only Italian club to achieve this. In 2024, Inter celebrated its twentieth Scudetto, earning a second star on its jersey. In total, the Nerazzurri have won 20 Scudetti, 3 Champions League/European Cups, 9 Coppa Italia titles, and numerous international trophies. Three Inter players have won the Ballon d'Or: Lothar Matthäus, Ronaldo "Il Fenomeno," and Roberto Baggio (awarded during his time with Inter).
