Francesco Totti

Francesco Totti (Rome, 27 September 1976) is a legend of Italian football and one of AS Roma's greatest icons, a club he played for during twenty-five consecutive seasons, nineteen of which as captain. A 2006 World Cup winner with the Italian national team, he is Serie A's second all-time top scorer with 250 goals.

Career

Francesco Totti was born in Rome on September 27, 1976. Having grown up in the Giallorossi youth sector, he made his Serie A debut on March 28, 1993, at only sixteen years old and remained with Roma for his entire career, a unique case in modern football: twenty-five consecutive seasons with the same club, from 1992 to 2017, nineteen of which as captain — an absolute Serie A record. With Roma, he won the 2000-2001 Scudetto, two Coppa Italia (2006-2007, 2007-2008), and two Italian Supercups. With the Italian national team, he won the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where he scored the decisive penalty against Australia in the round of 16, and was runner-up in the Euro 2000. Second-highest scorer in Serie A history with 250 goals, he won the European Golden Boot in 2006-2007 as top scorer with 26 goals and the Golden Foot in 2010. Considered one of the greatest Italian talents of all time, Er Pupone rewrote AS Roma's records, becoming the absolute symbol of the Giallorossi club and one of the most beloved figures in contemporary Italian football.
