Career
Fabio Grosso began his career in the lower leagues with Renato Curi Angolana and Chieti, where he played as an attacking midfielder. In 2001, he was acquired by Perugia, who converted him into a left-back, a role that led him to the National team. In 2004, he moved to Palermo and established himself in Serie A. After the 2006 World Cup, he was bought by Inter, where he won two consecutive Scudetti (2006-07 and 2007-08), before ending his career at Lyon (where he won Ligue 1) and Juventus.
He made 48 appearances for the Italian National team and became a legend of Italian football at the 2006 World Cup in Germany: he scored the decisive goal in the Italy-Germany semi-final in the 119th minute and converted the penalty that secured the World Cup in the final in Berlin against France. After retiring in 2012, he embarked on a coaching career, with experiences at Bari, Verona, Frosinone, Lyon, and Sassuolo.
