Career
Fabio Capello was born in San Canzian d'Isonzo on 18 June 1946. A midfielder of great tactical intelligence, he played for SPAL (1964-67), Roma (1967-70), Juventus (1970-76) and Milan (1976-80), winning four Italian Scudetti — three with Juventus in 1972, 1973 and 1975, and one with Milan in 1979 — and two Coppa Italia titles. He made 32 appearances and scored 8 goals for the Italian national team, including the historic 1973 goal at Wembley in Italy's first victory in England. After retiring, he embarked on a coaching career that established him as one of the greatest managers in world football history. At the helm of Milan from 1991 to 1996, he won four Scudetti (1991-92, 1992-93, 1993-94 and 1995-96) and the historic 1993-94 Champions League, won by beating Barcelona 4-0 in the Athens final. In 1996-97, he moved to Real Madrid, winning La Liga in his first attempt. In 2001, he led Roma to their third Scudetto in Giallorossi history, ending an eighteen-year drought. With Juventus, he won two Scudetti (2005 and 2006), later revoked due to Calciopoli. In 2006-07, he returned to Real Madrid, winning another La Liga title. He was manager of England from 2007 to 2012 and Russia from 2012 to 2015. He ended his career in China with Jiangsu Suning in 2017. Capello holds the record for winning the league title with every club he managed long-term, a record that places him among the greatest managers of all time.
