The Career
David Sergio Trezeguet was born in Rouen on October 15, 1977, the son of Jorge Trezeguet, an Argentine footballer then playing in France. He grew up in Argentina until the age of 15, starting his career at Platense, before returning to Europe: in 1995, he debuted with Monaco in Ligue 1. In seven seasons in the Principality, he won two French championships (1996-97, 1999-2000) and formed a memorable attacking partnership with Thierry Henry and Marco Simone, ending his time at Monaco with 60 goals. During Euro 2000, Juventus bought him for 45 billion lire, a record amount for the Turin club at the time. In Turin, he found his consecration: in the 2001-02 season, he became a regular starter alongside Alessandro Del Piero, won his first Scudetto — the famous "May 5th" comeback against Inter — and became joint top scorer in Serie A with Dario Hübner (24 goals, all from open play). With Juventus, he played 245 official matches, scoring 171 goals — an absolute record for a foreign player — and won four Scudetti, two Italian Supercups, and Serie B in 2006-07. He left Juventus in 2010 and continued his career with Hercules, Baniyas, River Plate — leading the Millonarios back to Primera División — and finally Newell's Old Boys and Pune City in India, where he retired in 2015. With the French national team, he earned 71 caps and scored 34 goals between 1998 and 2008, winning the 1998 World Cup at home and Euro 2000 (scoring the decisive Golden Goal in the final against Italy). In 2004, Pelé included him in the FIFA 100 of the 125 greatest living footballers. After retiring, he returned to Juventus as President of Juventus Legends (from 2015) and Brand Ambassador (2018-2021). In 2025, he became a DAZN pundit and FIFA ambassador, and in January 2026, he accepted a new institutional role at River Plate.
Why Collect a David Trezeguet Autograph
An original David Trezeguet autograph is one of the most sought-after pieces for collectors linked to the Lippi-Del Piero era of Juventus and the 1998 World Cup-winning French national team. Trezeguet is considered one of the most lethal strikers in recent European football history, the only foreign forward to have scored 171 goals for Juventus. His signature is particularly valuable on Juventus jerseys from the 2000-2010 seasons, on French jerseys from the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship triumphs, on iconic photographs of the Rotterdam final against Italy — featuring his decisive Golden Goal — and on memorabilia related to the "May 5th" 2002 season. The collectible value is further supported by Trezeguet's inclusion in Pelé's FIFA 100 in 2004, his status as an official Juventus legend as President of Juventus Legends and historical Brand Ambassador for the club, and the rarity of Trezeguet's public appearances — currently busy between Turin and Buenos Aires for his new role at River Plate.
