Cristina D'Avena was born in Bologna on July 6, 1964. She made her musical debut at just three years old at the 1968 Zecchino d'Oro with "Il valzer del moscerino", later joining the prestigious Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano in Bologna. In 1981, she recorded "Bambino Pinocchio", the first cartoon theme song of her immense career, initiating a forty-year collaboration with author Alessandra Valeri Manera and Fininvest/Mediaset. Throughout the 1980s, she became the undisputed voice of Japanese cartoon theme songs broadcast on Mediaset channels, performing songs that became part of Italian popular culture such as "Kiss Me Licia", "Occhi di gatto", "I Puffi", "Mila e Shiro", "Holly e Benji", "Sailor Moon", "E quasi magia Johnny" and hundreds of others. With over 743 recorded songs, including approximately 396 TV theme songs, she is one of the most prolific Italian artists ever and has sold over seven million records. Alongside her musical career, she starred in the Mediaset TV series "Licia" (1986-1988) and "Arriva Cristina" (1988-1991), solidifying her status as an icon of generational Italian entertainment. In 2017, she released the album "Duets - Tutti Cantano Cristina" with Warner Music Italy, featuring duets with sixteen major Italian musicians, the only female album in the top 20 best-selling albums in Italy in 2017. In 2019, she released the sequel "Duets Forever". Her career continues uninterrupted with concerts, record releases, television appearances, and new theme songs.
