The Bavarian Story
Fußball-Club Bayern München was founded on February 27, 1900, by eleven dissident players from Münchner Turn-Verein 1879, rebels of early German football. The historic colors, red and white with the distinctive Bavarian logo of blue diamonds, became the identifying symbol of Germany's most successful club ever, deeply linked to Bavaria and the city of Munich. Bayern's history is carved out by three golden eras that defined European football. The first was that of Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller in the 1970s, when the Bavarians won three consecutive European Cups (1974, 1975, 1976) under the guidance of Udo Lattek and Dettmar Cramer, fielding a legendary team with Beckenbauer (Ballon d'Or 1972 and 1976), Gerd Müller (Ballon d'Or 1970, all-time top scorer in the Bundesliga and the 1974 World Cup), Sepp Maier, Paul Breitner, Uli Hoeneß, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. That team formed the backbone of the West Germany squad that won the 1974 World Cup at home. The second era was that of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the mid-1980s, while the third great era came with the 2012-13 "Treble" under Jupp Heynckes, when Bayern won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League, defeating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley with champions like Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben, Thomas Müller, Mario Gómez, and Mario Mandžukić. The sixth Champions League triumph came in 2019-20 under Hansi Flick during the COVID edition, with a second Treble that saw Lewandowski, Neuer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Davies, and Coman's Bayern team win all 11 matches of the tournament, a unique feat in the competition's history. In total, the Bavarians have won 6 Champions League/European Cups, 33 Bundesliga titles (an absolute record in Germany), 20 DFB-Pokal (a record), 1 Cup Winners' Cup, 1 UEFA Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 2 Club World Cups, and 2 UEFA Super Cups. Among the great legends of Bayern Munich are Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Sepp Maier, Paul Breitner, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Matthäus, Oliver Kahn, Stefan Effenberg, Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Müller, Robert Lewandowski (the modern club's all-time top scorer), and captain Manuel Neuer.
Bayern Munich Jerseys: Autographed, Player-Issued, and Match-Worn from the Store
The Bayern Munich jerseys available on MTM Memorabilia represent a high-level collectible documentation of the Bavarian club. The catalog includes three distinct types of official jerseys. Autographed store jerseys are commercial versions signed by the protagonists of Bavarian history, from the champions of the Beckenbauer era to the players of the 2013 Treble and the 2020 Champions League winners. Player-issued jerseys are official items assigned by the club to players for training, on the bench, or as reserves, identical to game-worn jerseys but not used in official matches. Match-worn jerseys are actually worn on the field during official competitions, the rarest and most sought-after item in international collecting. Each jersey covers different seasons and protagonists: from the 1970s-1980s Adidas years of Beckenbauer and Müller's triumphs, to the Adidas eras (the historical uninterrupted technical sponsor since 1979) of modern triumphs, with historical sponsors like Magirus-Deutz, Iveco, Commodore, Opel, Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile, T-Home) and Telekom, up to recent seasons. The provenance of each jersey is documented, and authenticity is verified by our experts.
