Atalanta

Atalanta

Atalanta, founded in Bergamo in 1907, is the club that symbolizes the sporting identity of the Orobic region. Famous for its historic youth academy and black and blue colours, it won the 2024 Europa League under Gasperini and launched champions such as Scirea, Cabrini, Donadoni and Iličić.

The Nerazzurri history of Bergamo

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio was founded on October 17, 1907, in Bergamo, taking its name from the heroine of Greek mythology famous for her speed and athletic ability. The black and blue (Nerazzurri) colors have always characterized the Orobic club, an expression of the sporting and industrious identity of the Lombard city. Atalanta's history is marked by an indissoluble bond with its youth academy: the club's historic youth sector has forged some of the best talents in Italian football over the decades, from Gaetano Scirea to Antonio Cabrini, from Roberto Donadoni to Riccardo Montolivo, and Giacomo Bonaventura. The first trophy came with the 1962-63 Coppa Italia won under the guidance of Paolo Tabanelli, the club's first great success. In the 1980s and 1990s, Atalanta was a protagonist in memorable seasons in the Cup Winners' Cup, reaching the semi-finals in 1987-88 as a newly promoted team, a historic feat in the European landscape. But it was under the presidency of Percassi and with Gian Piero Gasperini on the bench that Atalanta experienced the most radical transformation in its history: from 2016 onwards, La Dea (The Goddess) became one of the most admired realities in Europe, consistently qualifying for the Champions League, reaching the quarter-finals in 2019-20, and achieving the historic triumph of the 2024 Europa League in Dublin against Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen, the club's first continental title. In total, the Nerazzurri have won 1 Coppa Italia (1963), 1 Serie B (1928), 1 Europa League (2024), and numerous European placements. Among the great figures in Atalanta's history are Gaetano Scirea, Glenn Strömberg, Cristiano Doni, Filippo Inzaghi (who grew up in Bergamo), Gianpaolo Bellini, Alejandro "Papu" Gómez, Josip Iličić, Duván Zapata, Rafael Tolói, and captain Berat Djimsiti.

Atalanta jerseys: autographed store, player issued, and match worn

The Atalanta jerseys available on MTM Memorabilia represent a high-level collectible documentation of the Orobic club. The catalog includes three distinct types of official jerseys. Autographed store jerseys are commercial versions signed by the protagonists of Atalanta's history, from the champions of Bergamo's youth academy to the players of the Gasperini era, up to the stars of the 2024 Europa League. Player-issued jerseys are official items assigned by the club to players for training, bench, or reserves, identical to those used in matches but not worn in official games. Match-worn jerseys are actually worn on the field during official competitions, the rarest and most sought-after item by international collectors. Each jersey covers different seasons and protagonists: from the Erreà, Asics, Diadora, and Champion years of the eighties and nineties to the Nike and Joma eras of the new millennium, with historical sponsors such as Sit-In, Tamoil, Carrera, IPER, and Plus500, up to recent Mizuno and Joma seasons. The provenance of each jersey is documented, and authenticity is verified by our experts.
