Career
Antonio Cabrini was born in Cremona on October 8, 1957. Having grown up in the Cremonese youth sector, he made his first-team debut at just sixteen years old on March 17, 1974, in Serie C. After a season at Atalanta in Serie B, in the summer of 1976, he joined Giovanni Trapattoni's Juventus, where he would remain for thirteen consecutive seasons, becoming one of the symbols of the victorious black and white era of the 1980s. With Juventus, he won six Scudetti (1976-77, 1977-78, 1980-81, 1981-82, 1983-84, 1985-86), two Coppa Italia, one European Cup (1984-85), one UEFA Cup, one Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, and one Intercontinental Cup – he is among the few players in the world to have won all UEFA club competitions. With the Italian national team, he debuted at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, receiving the Best Young Player award for the tournament, and four years later, he led Italy to victory in the 1982 World Cup in Spain as the starting left-back. He ended his career at Bologna in 1991. In 2021, he was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame.
