Guillermo Giacomazzi (Montevideo, November 21, 1977) is a former Uruguayan midfielder with an Italian passport, a true icon of US Lecce. Arriving in Salento in the summer of 2001 from Peñarol, along with his compatriot Chevantón, he indissolubly linked his name to the yellow and red colors, playing there from 2001 to 2007 and from 2008 to 2013. With 197 appearances and numerous goals and assists, he is the Lecce player with the most Serie A appearances of all time, as well as being one of the most loved by the fans. In the 2008/2009 season, upon the club's return to the top league, he proudly wore the captain's armband. With the Salento team, he achieved promotion to Serie A, won Serie B in 2009-2010, and secured several top-flight survivals, becoming an absolute symbol of loyalty and attachment to the shirt.
