Javier Zanetti's Inter shirt: the red cross of the Centenary

Made by Nike to celebrate the centenary of the club's founding in Milan on March 9, 1908, it features the red cross on a white background from the coat of arms of the city of Milan, a direct tribute to the club's Milanese origins. On the chest is the commemorative crest embroidered in gold with the inscription 1908-2008 100 Years Inter, topped by the star of the ten Scudetto shields, flanked by the Pirelli sponsor. On the back, below the collar, is the Centenary commemorative shield, while inside the collar is the red ribbon with the inscription Centenario Inter. It is the shirt from the season in which Roberto Mancini's Inter won their sixteenth Scudetto, their third in a row. The back is personalized with the inscription J. Javier Zanetti (Buenos Aires, August 10, 1973) is the ultimate icon of modern Inter. Arriving in Milan in 1995 from Banfield, he wore the Nerazzurri shirt for nineteen consecutive seasons, becoming the player with the most appearances in the club's history, with over 850. Captain for over a decade, a full-back and midfielder of extraordinary versatility and endurance, nicknamed Pupi and The Tractor, he led Inter to five consecutive Scudetti and the historic Treble of 2010, lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy as captain in Madrid. At the end of his career, Inter retired his number 4, and Zanetti became the club's vice president. With Argentina, he surpassed 140 appearances, participating in two World Cups.
