Edwige Fenech was born in Annaba, then French Algeria, on December 24, 1948, to a Maltese father and an Italian mother from Acate. After her parents' divorce, she moved to Nice, where she was noticed on the street and landed a small film role, marking the beginning of her career. After winning the "Lady France" beauty pageant, she moved to Italy where, in the early 1970s, she established herself as an icon of erotic giallo thanks to films directed by Sergio Martino, such as "Lo strano vizio della signora Wardh." With "Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda" (1972), she became the symbol of Italian sexy comedy, a genre she interpreted with great ease for over a decade in famous school, military, and police film series. In the 1990s, she dedicated herself to television production, bringing the TV series "Commesse" to success, before returning to cinema in 2023 alongside Gabriele Lavia in Pupi Avati's "La quattordicesima domenica del tempo ordinario."
