The duo: Ale and Franz

Ale e Franz is an Italian comedy duo formed by Alessandro Besentini (Milan, May 11, 1971) and Francesco Villa (Milan, January 29, 1967). The two met in 1992 at the Centro Teatro Attivo in Milan, where they attended theater training courses, and officially founded the duo in 1994. Success came in the 2000s with their participation in the Zelig program, which established them with the general public thanks to their surreal and refined comedy, hovering between masked performance and clowning. In 2001, they won the Forte dei Marmi Political Satire Award, and from 2007 to 2017, they hosted the improvisation show Buona la prima! on Italia 1. Also active as voice actors, they lent their voices to the characters of Alex the lion and Marty the zebra in the animated film Madagascar. In 1997, an asteroid was named 15379 Alefranz in their honor, testifying to their popularity and their special bond with the Italian public.
