FK Příbram, he spent his entire career in the Czech championship with Baník Ostrava, Slavia Prague, and especially Viktoria Plzeň, a club with which he won four league titles and the Czech Republic Cup, also playing in the UEFA Champions League. With 236 league appearances, he was for a long time the absolute record holder for appearances in the top Czech league. Despite a natural propensity for the offensive phase that made him capable of covering the entire right flank, he was a modern and reliable full-back, appreciated for his speed and constructive ability. He made 14 appearances for the Czech national team, including two matches played at UEFA Euro 2012, a tournament in which the Czech Republic reached the quarter-finals.
