Stephen Ayodele Makinwa (Lagos, July 26, 1983) is a former Nigerian forward who spent his entire professional career in Italy, becoming an Italian citizen in 2012. After experiences with Genoa, Modena, and Brescia, in the 2005/2006 season, he joined Fiorentina, where he distinguished himself enough to attract the attention of Lazio, who acquired him in the summer of 2006 for 3 million euros. In the January 2008 transfer window, he moved on loan to Reggina, making his debut on February 9, 2008, in Roma-Reggina, during one of the most difficult seasons in the Calabrian club's recent history. He earned 19 caps with the Nigerian national team, participating in the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
