Giancarlo Giannini (La Spezia, August 1, 1942) is one of the greatest and most versatile Italian actors, voice actors, and directors of all time. Trained in theater, he achieved consecration thanks to his partnership with director Lina Wertmüller and with Mariangela Melato, bringing to life unforgettable characters in "The Seduction of Mimi," "Swept Away by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August," and "Love and Anarchy," which earned him the Palme d'Or for best actor at Cannes in 1973. In 1977, he received an Oscar nomination for best actor for "Seven Beauties," a rare occurrence for a performance in Italian. During his career, he has won six David di Donatello awards and five Nastro d'Argento awards. The official Italian voice of Al Pacino, he also dubbed Jack Nicholson, receiving compliments from Stanley Kubrick. He has acted in Hollywood in "Hannibal" and in two James Bond films. In 2023, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
