The band: Måneskin

Måneskin (Danish for "moonlight") is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016, consisting of Damiano David (vocals, born in Rome in 1999), Victoria De Angelis (bass, Italian-Danish), Thomas Raggi (guitar), and Ethan Torchio (drums). After starting out as street performers on Via del Corso in Rome and placing second in X Factor 11 (2017) on Manuel Agnelli's team, they won over the public with the EP Chosen and the album Il ballo della vita (2018, triple platinum). Worldwide recognition came in 2021 with their victory at the 71st Sanremo Music Festival and the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam with "Zitti e buoni," the first Italian triumph in 31 years since Toto Cutugno's last victory. International success came thanks to the singles "Beggin'" and "I Wanna Be Your Slave," which entered the Billboard Global 200, opening for the Rolling Stones in Las Vegas, and performing at Coachella 2022. In 2023, Rush!, their third studio album, was released. They have sold approximately 40 million records, won an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, three MTV Europe Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Grammy nomination. In 2024, the band announced a hiatus for solo projects.
