The protagonist: Giorgio Albertazzi

Giorgio Albertazzi (Fiesole, August 20, 1923 – Roccastrada, May 28, 2016) was one of the greatest and most influential Italian theater actors and directors of the twentieth century. Active on stage for over sixty years, he played the most important roles of the classical and contemporary repertoire with a legendary stage presence and vocal power. He was also one of the first and most loved Italian television stars, protagonist of unforgettable poetic readings and highly successful RAI dramas that consecrated him as the face of Italian culture and intelligence to a vast audience. He worked with the greatest Italian and international directors, performing on stages all over the world. He passed away in 2016 at the age of ninety-three, after a life entirely dedicated to art, every autograph of his — and especially the youthful ones from the 1950s like this one — is today a document of exceptional rarity and historical value.
