Marco D'Amore was born in Caserta on June 12, 1981, into a family of Neapolitan origin and an artistic lineage. After his early theatrical career with Toni Servillo's Teatri Uniti company and graduating from the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Arts in Milan, he made his film debut in 2009. The turning point came in 2014 with the role of Ciro Di Marzio in the Gomorrah series, which established him as an internationally renowned actor for all five seasons of the series, of which he also directed the fourth and fifth. In 2019, he reprised the role of Ciro in the film L'Immortale, which he also directed, winning the Nastro d'Argento for best debut director.
