Irvine Welsh was born in Leith, a port district of Edinburgh, in 1958. A prolific author, he has published numerous other novels including Porno, Glue, Filth, and Skagboys, all published in Italy by Guanda, as well as screenplays, plays, and collaborations as a DJ and musician. In 2025, he will publish Men in Love, a new chapter in the Trainspotting saga. Considered one of the most important contemporary British writers, his raw and visceral style has been compared to authors such as Céline and Burroughs.
