The Champion: Juan Carlos Tacchi

Juan Carlos Tacchi (Basavilbaso, June 5, 1932 – Trasacco, September 8, 2007) was an Argentinian footballer, a left winger of great flair and unpredictability. He arrived in Italy in 1956, at the age of twenty-four, signed by Torino, where he made 48 appearances and scored 10 goals alongside champions like Jeppson and Armano. In 1958, he moved to Alessandria, where he became legendary for the historic hat-trick he scored against Italian champions Milan in September 1959. Very fast and elusive, skilled at free kicks and corner kicks, he ended his career at Achille Lauro's Napoli, achieving two promotions to Serie A and winning the Coppa Italia 1961-62. Called up to the Italian National team during his time in Turin, he never debuted for the Azzurri, but he scored with the Italian League representative team in 1960. Father of three footballers, he passed away in 2007.
