Claudio Ranieri (Rome, 20 October 1951) is one of the most respected and loved Italian coaches in the history of international football. As a player, he linked his name above all to Catanzaro, of which he became the player with the most appearances in Serie A between 1974 and 1982. As a coach, he has managed top clubs throughout Europe — Fiorentina, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter, Roma, Monaco and many others — building a career of rare international scope. At Chelsea he coached from 2000 to 2004, leading the club to second place in the Premier League in 2004. The most extraordinary chapter of his career, however, is the 2015/2016 season: at the helm of Leicester City he achieved one of the most famous sporting miracles of all time, winning the Premier League at odds of 5,000 to 1.
