Samir Handanović (Ljubljana, July 14, 1984) is one of the greatest goalkeepers in the recent history of Italian football. He joined Udinese at 20 in 2004 after growing up in Slovenia, cementing his talent in Friuli before moving to Inter in the summer of 2012. With the Nerazzurri jersey, he made 455 appearances, keeping a clean sheet on 166 occasions, and wore the captain's armband from 2019 to 2023. He holds the absolute record for most penalties saved in Serie A history (32) and is the goalkeeper with the most Serie A appearances for Inter. With the Nerazzurri, he won the 2020/2021 Scudetto, two Coppa Italia titles (2021/22 and 2022/23), and two Italian Supercups (2021 and 2022). In the 2018/2019 season, he won the award for best goalkeeper in Serie A. Today, he is a coach in Inter's youth sector.
